A luxury stay in the heart of London.

Our founder Rosie Harris reviewed Covent Garden’s Middle Eight Hotel.

Imagine being transported into an ambience of pure luxury in the heart of the best city in the world!  That is what the Middle Eight Hotel offers, and I should know, as I experienced a stay like no other.

With only two hours on the train from Cardiff, getting into London is quicker than ever. It’s one of my favourite cities and this time I took a trip to Covent Garden and stayed in the Middle Eight.  A stone’s throw away from Trafalgar Square, take a turn into Great Queen Street and you’ll find Middle Eight. You can’t miss the outside, the beautifully designed doors leading into this architectural haven.

On arrival the warmth and customer service were quickly apparent, the most beautiful décor and style, very on-trend, truly echoing the city surroundings.

Taken up to my suite, I opened the door to the most beautiful room with soothing water features, underfloor heating, and a free-standing bath.  Cosy yet so stylish with glass doors that led through to a separate dining area with a glass roof; it made me feel like I was outside on some exotic holiday with its greenery décor on its walls. Everything you could want, or need is available in the suite, and with a four-poster bed which embodied comfort, it took this stay to a whole different level.

Dinner did not disappoint either, if your anything like me, which to put it in basic terms means you’re a ‘foodie’, prepare to have your taste buds tantalised.  The Sycamore Restaurant & Bar offers a truly authentic Italian experience.  What was most appealing was the service; I was taken through the menu by the manager of the restaurant, his enthusiasm coupled with his obvious passion amplified the excellent service.  I chose their handmade pizza which turns out was the perfect choice. Think artisan bread, pit-grilled meats and hand rolled pasta, that it was you can expect from The Sycamore.  Dessert wise, I chose the amaretti cheesecake, which was divine, a gorgeous culinary experience.

So, my stay was practically perfect, what better way to experience London than with the ultimate luxury stay, and Middle Eight clearly represents that!
