This week after an enforced four-month closure Brecon Beacons Holiday Cottages were delighted to be able to open its doors welcoming guests back to its 400 plus holiday cottages.
Elizabeth Daniel has been running Brecon cottages for 45 years stated:
“This has been the worst period for tourism in the Brecon Beacons. The Foot and Mouth epidemic had a dreadful impact in the rural community but it was nothing compared to the trauma caused by COVID-19. Being a rural community we have luckily escaped the ravages of the virus but the financial implications will be long-lasting.
“I am absolutely delighted to finally welcome visitors back to the Brecon Beacons National Park – however, we are moving forward very cautiously following government guidelines. Ensuring we protect our community and asking all visitors to respect the code of conduct set out by the Brecon Beacons National Park and Visit Wales.
We are encouraging guests to shop locally to help the local economy thrive as this is an area that depends on tourism and farming.
We have worked closely with Style of the City since its inception and have welcomed many guests from Cardiff and The Welsh Valleys..”
