The festive season is time cherished and celebrated with family, friends and loved ones; however, it is the time of year that we think of those who are less fortunate than us. During this period of time, we tend to donate more to charities, to help feed, house and support those in need. But this year, do you feel like giving more than just money?

Here are five charities based in South Wales that you can volunteer at, to help support, make a difference and give back to your community, during the festive season and throughout the year.

Are you a dog lover? Join the Hope Rescue Team to deliver a Christmas Dinner to the Hope Rescue dogs at their Rescue Centre in Llanharan.

You’ll be helping them to carve the turkey, cook the sprouts and then you’ll give a dinner to your allocated rescue dog. Your ticket price will help the rescue centre look after the rescue dogs over the winter period, providing them with cosy kennels, food and treats, entertaining toys and lots of walks, love and attention from their team of animal welfare staff.

This event is open for everyone aged 14 +; however, those aged 14-17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

The event is on Saturday the 21st of December 2019, between 10:00 – 13:00 GMT.
