Mimpikita celebrates diversity with their AW19 collection shown at London Fashion Week.
With a team comprised of three female founders, all from different backgrounds, the label is founded on difference. Breaking down their own cultural boundaries and barriers, the founders sew together facets of themselves into astonishing garments that embody the beauty of variety.
‘Mimpikita’ means ‘our dreams’ when translated from the designers’ national language Bahasa Malaysia.
Mimpikita’s hope is to create a collection that speaks to every woman. Hand embroidering, fringing and luxury trims, add a hint of softness to their fearless silhouettes, translating the beauty, resilience and power of women that ultimately inspired the collection.
Introducing an array of bold prints, including abstract floral and check, and silhouettes ranging from tailored outerwear to soft skirts, the striking designs delicately balance detail and embellishment.
Mimpikita’s hunger to use design to challenge and communicate on a global stage is undeniable. Using their differences as a strength, Mimpikita is leading the way.
Mimpikita is stocked at stores in Malaysia as well as in London, and is also available online.
