Businesswoman Lora Payne is celebrating a brace of awards thanks to the innovative approach she has brought to the virtual assistant industry.
Lora’s Penarth-based business LC Virtual Assistant Services (LCVA) recently won the Best Business Marketing Award at the Bridgend and Vale Business Club Awards 2019 and the Outstanding Networking Award in the Zokit Business Awards 2019 in Cardiff City Stadium.
The business was also selected as a finalist in the New Business category the Cardiff Life Awards 2019 and for the categories of New On The Scene and Rising Star in the Business Growth Awards South Wales 2019.
Lora said: “I’m delighted and honoured to have won two awards and been shortlisted for three more, particularly as this is LCVA Services’ second year. I established it in February 2018, and its first two years have been something of a whirlwind!
“We’ve had impressive growth and have secured investment for growth and advertising, secured contracts with large corporate businesses and a stable of smaller businesses, established a growing client base, built an effective on-line presence, and become actively involved with local charities and businesses and networking communities such as the FSB and Mums in Business.
“Whatever targets I have set for the business, weekly, monthly, and annually, we have always smashed them.”
Lora’s passion for owning her own business came after she had a baby at 18.
She said: “I was young, but I always knew that I was never going to become the stereotype of a teenage mum.”
She was determined to set her child an excellent example and she dreamt of having the best balance of work and family life possible.
Lora knew she needed experience and education to achieve her goal, so she went out and got them over 10 years. In 2017, she graduated from the Business School at the University of South Wales, setting up LCVA Services shortly afterward.
The concept behind LCVA Services is ground-breaking. It is designed as a support service for both businesses and private clients.
Lora’s vision is one of bringing together a collaborative network of highly-skilled online freelance associates, each with a depth of professional experience and expertise in their specific fields.
Whatever support her clients need, Lora has a team member who can deliver it – from administration and organisation for businesses and private clients, making travel arrangements, bookkeeping, human resources, and support with events to Welsh translation, social media, web design, public relations, and content creation. Her clients include business owners, entrepreneurs, and busy families and private individuals.
She has also donated time and support to local charitable and community causes such as assisting Repair Café Wales and Music in the Park, Penarth.
Lora said: “We’re the helping hand you never thought you’d need!
“The two forms of support we offer, business and PA services, complement each other well and ease the burden on busy entrepreneurs in both areas of their lives, work, and home.”
Now, LCVA Services’ business clients include solo entrepreneurs and large organisations, including charities, accountancy businesses, logistics and travel companies, membership organisations, and professional practices.
What started from one person with a vision, a computer, and a bucket load of passion is now expanding rapidly, with more freelance associates coming on board during 2019.
LCVA Services prides itself on its flexible and co-working ethos, building working relationships with clients to ensure that it understands their business, their plans, and ambitions.
Now, Lora has set her sights on expanding internationally in the next few years, delivering support online across the English-speaking world. She also hopes telling her story will inspire young parents to follow the same path to success.
