Monokel Eyewear is a sustainable unisex sunglass label based in Stockholm, Sweden.
The main material of their frames is a premium plant based acetate, and all black frames are made with recycled acetate. The lenses are made by Carl Zeiss Vision. Each frame is handcrafted with tremendous attention to detail in a process taking well over three months.
Continuing to reject complicated practices in every aspect of the design and manufacturing process, the Monokel Eyewear SS19 collection stays true to their original ethos, by creating timeless, sustainable and understated eyewear, made to be worn.
Taking a step back, the designers set out to create a range true to the design and process of their first collection, not worrying about anything except creating a simple, sustainable product that they would be excited to wear and share with their friends.
This season presents three new designs; Aki, Luna and Rio.
Aki is a stark style that features wide arms and sits lower down on the bridge of the nose. Working with a modest size, Aki is offered in five colour-ways.
Adding a new rounded, half-moon model to the catalogue, the Luna style features a lightweight, stainless steel frame.
The final new addition, Rio, is a rounded style with stainless steel frames; creating an undeniably classic design. Rio was created to work with all face shapes, making this one a perfect choice for your everyday frames.
Never compromising on quality, Monokel Eyewear continue to work with renowned manufacturers Carl Zeiss, the name behind the 100% UV protective lenses, and respected Italian acetate producers Mazzucchelli.
