With all eyes on her, Meghan Markle revealed not only the dress on Saturday, but a second custom gown designed by Stella McCartney.
Made entirely of silk crepe, with high halter neck line and exposed shoulders, Meghan opted for a figure hugging bridal look for the wedding reception. While maintaining the minimalist look she had chosen for the big day, the second dress was far more suited for an intimate evening celebration.
Paired with shoes from Aquazurra with soles painted in baby blue, she topped off the look with Princess Diana’s aquamarine Asprey cocktail ring, as something blue became something lovely and poignant.
Meghan’s choice of custom Stella McCartney came as no surprise, as many speculated that the designer would be the choice for the bridal gown, due to McCartney’s reputation for sustainable fashion and an environmentally conscious approach.
As well as a pioneering figure in the fashion industry, Stella McCartney is also vocal about using her platform for awareness around feminism and gender equality, a passion she shares with Meghan.
