Style of the City’s Karine Laudort reviews Future Inns, the 4-star hotel in the heart of Cardiff Bay.
As I’m normally based in London, I relish any opportunity to visit the capital of Wales and the rest of the Style of the City team in Cardiff. Future Inns was the perfect location to stay on my mini-break in Cardiff Bay. The 4-star hotel offers you value for money with their modern facilities and spacious en-suite bedrooms. The hotel also offers free car parking and free Wi-Fi to all guests, which I found very helpful!
Upon arrival l was upgraded to an executive suite (rooms 501 & 502) which comprised of a large bedroom with a super king bed, a plasma TV, a reasonably sized bathroom with a bathtub and separate connected toilets. It also included a living room with a workspace. l was also pleasantly surprised to find a complimentary basket filled with a bottle of champagne and fresh fruits, which was absolutely delicious!
The hotel, in Cardiff Bay, is very well situated within a walking distance of the Cardiff Millennium Centre & Cardiff Bay train station, which operates quick connections into Cardiff City Centre. By being situated in the heart of Cardiff Bay, I was only a short distant walk away from Mermaid Quay, which has a variety of local businesses, cuisine and entertainment for visitors to enjoy upon their stay.
Thomas Bar & Restaurant, which is housed within Future Inn Cardiff, serves great British food with a contemporary Welsh flavour. The restaurant uses the finest locally sourced ingredients presented in an informal relaxed manner, offering fresh, homemade food all day. Within my stay, the hotel also offered a comprehensive cooked breakfast with fresh juice, tea, coffee, fruits salad and other locally sourced products. I opted for the pancakes and banana split for breakfast with a glorious cappuccino, which filled me up ready for my trek back up to London.
My overall experience was fantastic and the staff were extremely warm and welcoming. I would highly recommend this hotel to solo, families or business travellers.
