We’ve finally reached the pinnacle of award season, the 2020 Oscars night. After a standout awards season, the red carpet became more subdued that evening with many celebrities wearing darker coloured looks, some in white, and a few flashes of bright colour.

Renée Zellweger
Best Actress nominee Renée looked stunning in her custom white-sequin, one-shoulder Armani Privé gown. Zellweger’s short hair complements the look perfectly.
Charlize Theron
This structured black gown was a true showstopper on the red carpet. Theron wears minimal makeup and accessories with a Tiffany & Co. diamond pendant necklace, which perfectly complements her sleek style.
Natalie Portman
Portman made a statement on the red carpet, draped in a Dior cape embroidered with the names of female directors who weren’t nominated for the 92nd Academy Awards. Names on the cape included Lorene Scafaria, Lulu Wang, Greta Gerwig, Marielle Heller, Melina Matsoukas, Alma Har’el, Céline Sciamma and Mati Diop.
Janelle Monáe
The star wore a custom Ralph Lauren custom crystal-laquered silk lamé tulle mesh gown with a statement hood. The gown is fully hand-embroidered with over 168,000 Swarovski crystals.
Saoirse Ronan
Ronan stood out with a flash of colour in this black, ivory, and lavender gown with deep V-neck, silk ruffles and moiré skirt. She finished the look with Gucci High jewellery earrings and ring.
