The scene will certainly be set with warm lighting and comfy chairs within the elegant restaurant. Thomas Bar and Restaurant at Future Inn Cardiff has gained an excellent reputation for serving wholesome British cuisine as well as traditional Welsh dishes, and it is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner.

The welcoming, cosy Cardiff Bay restaurant is open to the public as well as hotel residents for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, a-la-carte evening dining and traditional roasts on Sundays. As well as treating your special someone it is ideal for a family celebration or a catch up with friends.

The team pride themselves on creating mouth-watering dishes in house. In an industry dominated by fast food and ‘ping-meals’, it is refreshing that the menu is created and cooked on site by talented chefs. Home cooked meals are nostalgic, they make you feel comfortable and loved. So why spend the time in the kitchen or washing pots and pans afterwards when you can get someone else to cook for you.

As all of the food is homemade, using local and fresh ingredients it means that those who require a vegan menu or have a special diet or allergy can be catered for too, as long as you let the team know when you make a reservation so they have as much notice as possible to make sure the ingredients are there and to make the dishes for you.

So why should you take your partner out this Valentine’s Day?

From Thursday 14th February to Sunday 17th February 2019 a special Valentine’s table d’hôte menu will be running which includes 3 courses, a glass of wine or prosecco, and a homemade gift from the Chef to take home with you. All for £21.95 per person. Seating times are between 6.30pm-9.30pm and pre-booking is a must.

Example menu: You could start with a light starter of pork and garlic pate with toasted brioche and pear chutney followed by roast chicken served with fondant potato, purple sprouting broccoli, broad beans and watercress. A taste of Wales

The Welsh word for taste is Blas, and the amazing chefs certainly bring you that, producing distinct and authentic flavours. They have recreated the traditional afternoon tea menu of delicious finger sandwiches, mouth-watering homemade cakes and handmade scones with lashings of cream and fruit jam, by using Welsh ingredients.

If you are looking for an alternative to a traditional sit-down dinner the Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea is a great alternative. It is served with unlimited servings of Welsh Brew Loose Tea or coffee if you prefer. You can also add on a glass of bubbles, prosecco, champagne or even a cocktail. Priced at £12 per person, the Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea is served Monday – Sunday between 1pm-5pm. Pre-booking is essential.
