Academy 297 rooftop cocktail bar is the latest addition to the Goodsheds development in Barry. Situated on the rooftop (the 3rd floor), Academy 297 is definitely the place to visit for Instagram worthy cocktails (starting at £7.95) and nibbles (starting at £2.50) such as sourdough, olives and chilli bites.
A new addition to the Academy family, having only been opened a week, Janet Morgan has brought a tranquil, stylish and a first of its kind rooftop bar to Barry. Having taken decor inspiration from many popular bars in London, you can now feel like you’re abroad whilst only being a few yards away from your home.
Like everywhere for the foreseeable future, once you are seated at a table inside Academy 297 you can take off your mask, but must stay seated at your allocated table. All staff are seen to be wearing their masks and washing their hands/ sanitising consistently throughout your visit.
Academy 297’s most popular cocktail is ‘West End Girls’ inspired by Barry’s very own Spectrum girls, Sophie and Hannah Pycroft. Indulge in the pink glittery cocktail topped with pink candy floss, which is influenced by their very pink beauty brand.
There are over 22 cocktails to choose from, including their signature 297 cocktail, which is perfect to share with a friend. This one was definitely our favourite!
The cocktail bar has a great ambience with vibrant and tropical decor throughout, which allows you to experience the outdoors whilst indoors. The relaxing atmosphere provides the perfect environment to get back to social interactions with loved ones.
Online booking for Academy 297 is now open between Wednesday to Sunday for October and November reservations.
