What’s not to love about Summer?
For one it’s the start of festival season (the more glitter the better), brighter wardrobes, those all important Summer vacays and for us a lighter and glossier beauty routine, preferably one that’s sweat proof!
Since we last spoke we’ve already had our festival fun and checked off our bucket list with a trip to Coachella festival in Palm Springs whilst announcing our latest Spectrum launch at the airport, the perfect spot for our Jet Setters range. Designed specifically with travel in mind the set has 8 of our essential brushes in miniature form (because seriously who doesn’t love a mini?!) available in marble, malachite and our signature pink colourways.
Before our road trip to Palm Springs we had a few hours to kill in LA so headed to a vegan café called Gratitude (our must-visit vegan café in Cardiff has to be Blanche Bakery) and we just couldn’t resist a trip to Rodeo Drive for some shopping, makeup top ups and celeb scouting – we spotted Demi Moore and had a fangirl moment!
Coachella was definitely the most glamorous festival we’ve been to, so with our Jet Setters in tow we made sure to pack our essential fuss-free beauty products to achieve that California glow. First up the all important SPF, we love this handy Sun Mist from Pixi, spray onto freshly cleansed skin before your foundation to protect yourself from harmful UV rays. Although we love the heat, it’s definitely not your makeup’s best friend and no one wants their makeup sliding off their face so we’d recommend investing in a powerhouse primer. The Laura Mercier Oil Free primer is a gel formula that feels refreshing on your skin and smooths out any imperfections – yes please!
To achieve that fresh-faced holiday glow we love mixing our usual foundation with a few drops of liquid bronzer. Top tip – the bronzer will make your foundation slightly darker so you don’t need to buy a whole new bottle of a darker shade that might only last you a few weeks. Mix the products together on the back of your hand and then you’re ready to apply with our go-to brush for a flawless base – the B01 Buffing Foundation brush.
Lightly press the products into your skin and buff in circular motions, if you prefer a heavier coverage just build up the product but we prefer a lighter base for Summer. Finish the look with some cream blush on the apples of your cheeks for a flush of colour, the Glossier Cloud Paints are really pigmented so a little goes a long way but they’re essentials in our makeup bags and you can even wear them as lip colour too – fabulous and festival ready!
