Time flies when you’re having fun.

Ready to shake it off? If old school club classics and anthems are a staple of your nights out, then get ready for the ultimate night out. The best part? You’ll be giving back to people who desperately need our attention.

On 25th May, Time Flies will present a charity fundraising event to aid homelessness, as part of the Merthyr Rising Music Festival.

In the company of house music giants such as Cream, Ministry of Sound and Gatecrasher, Time Flies is one of the UK’s longest standing house music promoters.

DJs who have played for Time Flies events include world renowned names such as; Sasha, Carl Cox, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk, John Digweed, Paul Oakenfold, Pete Tong, Armin Van Buuren, and the list is endless. Since 1994 they have staged many of Wales’ major parties, providing tens of thousands of people with some top quality nights out.

Homelessness has been a cause close to promoter Henry’s heart for some time, with homelessness becoming more prominent on the streets of Wales.

Back in January, Henry was leaving Cardiff Central Station when came across a young lady in her 20’s, alone in freezing temperatures. Unable to shake the thought of her left alone in the arctic winter weather, Henry proceeded to book a room at the central Travelodge. Without a second thought, he took the key to her so she could have a warm bed for the night. After sharing his experience on Facebook, over 1,000 people engaged with the story.

Henry says: “It got me thinking that we could all do more for to help the people on our streets. After all, I only paid for one person for one night when it’s a 365 day a year problem for so many people in every UK city.”

He continues, “Andy Wheeler from the Merthyr Rising Festival suggested some involvement this year, and so I hit upon the idea of a fundraising event where 100% proceeds will go to homeless charities. All the DJ’s are playing for free and it will be a superb way to raise awareness of the issue which in my opinion, is at crisis point. At the same time, it will also raise the much needed funds for those less fortunate than ourselves.”

Time Flies fundraiser will take place at Secrets in Merthyr Tydfil on 25th May starting at 10pm, and admission is £5 on the door.

Everybody dance now, it’s for a good cause.
