Now boarding for the biggest beauty release of the summer, are you ready?

With new products inspired by wanderlust, jet setting and living life in the fast lane, Urban Decay is speeding into the summer at full throttle with its new Born to Run collection.

Everybody knows that when it comes to eyeshadow palettes, Urban Decay often comes out on top. Over the years, it has produced some of the most major beauty products from the last decade, and we can’t talk about it without throwing it back to the OG must-have, the Naked palette, which taught most of us the power of blending and shading.

Fast forward a few years, and palette releases from Urban Decay often lead to site crashes on release day, thousands of rave reviews from the beauty community, and a sold-out inventory. The anticipation alone leads to months of sneak peeks and swatch hunting.

If there’s one thing you can be sure of, it’s that UD will deliver several collections throughout the year, but there’s always one that comes out the winner. Last year, it was the Naked Heat summer collection. This year, there’s a new palette waiting in the wings as the newly announced Born to Run hits shelves in August.

Described as the ultimate globe trotting go-to, Born to Run has been created with adventure in mind. Whether you’re going on a long road trip, catching a late flight to a weekend rendezvous or heading to a new city for conferences and cocktails, BTR includes a little bit of everything, all while boasting the celebrated velvety textures and pigments known from it’s predecessors.

From everyday sweet peach and neutral tones, bold oranges, and copper metallics to orchid magentas and smoky shimmers, this is one product created to make packing for a trip a little easier.

Whether it’s a quick swipe of Baja (a burnt orange matte), or a vampy eye with deep, dark tones such as Drift (charcoal shimmer) and Jet (black with a purple shift), any look from Born to Run can be as quick or as creative as you like.

With 21 new shades, a variety of finishes and a kaleidoscope of captivating colour, it makes sense for this to be the most versatile Urban Decay palette of them all, having been designed as the ultimate travel companion.

With all the hype over neutral palettes, it can be easy to forget that Urban Decay does colour very, very well. This palette reminds me of some of the very first palettes I bought from the brand, when university nights out meant experimenting with whatever bit of colour and glitter I could get my hands on. While this palette is a little bit glam, it also benefits from that grungy attitude that everyone loves about the brand.

While you would need to mix and match several of the beloved Naked palettes to experiment (given their dedicated colour themes), Born to Run promises to be a combination of easy, blendable everyday colour with smokey, jewel toned pops of vibrancy.

I wasn’t going to say it, but I think I need to. I think I prefer this to my prized Naked 3 and Naked Heat palettes, just from the photos alone.

While the palette is the hero product of the collection, the brand will also be releasing 3 brand new lip shades for its Vice lipstick collection, including Ready (a bright rose sparkle), 66 (a rich mauve-nude) and Marfa (a dark berry).

It will also add three jewel toned eye pencils to its 24/7 Glide-On Pencil range, and a travel size All Nighter Make Up Setting Spray.

I’ll race you to Debenhams, but until then, you can order Born to Run (£39.50) for one day only on Tuesday, 12 June on UrbanDecay.co.uk Make sure you get there early to get your hands on the presale before it sells out, which obviously, it will.
