Mother’s Day is an occasion which is celebrated throughout the world to express respect, honour and love towards mothers. As well as grandmothers and mums to be, we must also acknowledge step-mother’s, aunties, foster carers and those who go above and beyond. The day is an event to honour their love and support to our lives and give something back.

Thomas Restaurant at Future Inn Cardiff Bay is a cosy but bright space filled with comfortable booths and stylish furniture. The elegant restaurant has gained an excellent reputation for serving wholesome British food as well as their Welsh themed menu. It is the perfect setting for a Mother’s Day celebration.

Open all year round, start with an unlimited breakfast buffet and end with evening a-la-carte dining. During the day there is a lunch menu or you could try the Taste of Wales Afternoon tea, and on Sundays, a traditional roast is served. For many, it has become the go-to location for a family celebration, catch up with friends or for an intimate dinner for two.

What is unique about Thomas Restaurant?

Unlike many other restaurants, all of the mouth-watering dishes are made on site using local, fresh ingredients. The chefs have the freedom to create their own menus and cook them from scratch. As all of the food is homemade, it means that those who have an allergy or require gluten free, dairy free or even a vegan menu can be catered for. They ask that you inform the team when you make your reservation so that your needs can be tailored too.

What treats can you enjoy this Mother’s Day?

On Sunday 31st March 2019 you could enjoy the Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea with unlimited servings of Welsh Brew Loose Tea or coffee if you prefer, plus a glass of prosecco, for £16.95 per person. Children are more than welcome to join you too with under 12’s at £8.95 per child and under 5’s are free of charge.

The traditional afternoon tea menu consists of delicious finger sandwiches, mouth-watering homemade cakes and handmade scones with lashings of clotted cream and fruit jam. These are all made by using Welsh ingredients.

For those who really want to celebrate you can add on a bottle of prosecco or champagne, or even have a few cocktails on the day.
