Our guide to crystals

Crystals have crept their way into the mainstream and are showing no signs of stepping back. In the last 4 years, there’s been a 40% rise in searches for the gemstones.

Wellness is now more important than ever, and many are turning to crystals to help them achieve bliss in a post-pandemic world.

What are crystals?

Crystals aren’t just pretty rocks. Without getting too science-y, Crystals are formed through the arrangement of atoms, molecules, or ions.

Crystals are believed to hold certain energies. It’s thought that each individual crystal has a unique energy and frequency that can be used to provide wellness to those who use them.

Different types offer special properties. There’s a crystal for almost any problem you can think of.

The idea is that they provide a sense of tranquillity and bliss. While crystals are most often associated with mental wellbeing, they can be used to treat physical aspects like immunity or stress/pain relief.

Celebrity fans of crystals include Adele, Naomi Campbell, and Victoria Beckham.  Adele even blamed losing her crystals for a “disastrous” performance at the Grammy’s.

Of course, crystals aren’t just a new trend. They’ve been used for centuries thanks to their supposed benefits. It’s thought that the make-up of a crystal gives it a sort-of memory, allowing it to maintain certain energies and release them.

For some people, crystals allow them to set intentions. They believe that by putting their intentions into them, the crystals will release the energy back into the space around them.

It’s not as easy as just sticking a crystal in the corner of your room though. Crystal aficionados say that to get the full benefits you must cleanse, charge, and carefully place your crystals for maximum effect.
